A New University-Industry Collaboration Project Begins at Balıkesir University
Balıkesir University (BAÜN) and Balıkesir Organised Industrial Zone (BALOSB) will implement a model cooperation project to support education. With the planned collaboration, joint activities between the institutions will be organised. As part of this, Balıkesir University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, accompanied by Balıkesir MYO Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatmagül Tolun and Bigadiç MYO Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Bicil, visited Balıkesir Organised Industrial Zone Director Akın Ünal. During the visit, topics related to industry-university cooperation were discussed, and the 3+1 Vocational Training Programme in the Workplace and the need for intermediate personnel in the Balıkesir industry were evaluated. Furthermore, consensus was reached on topics such as establishing an internship unit within the Organised Industrial Zone and jointly determining internship opportunities with relevant companies. During the meeting, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl stated that, within the scope of the cooperation protocol between the BAÜN Transfer Office coordination and the Balıkesir Organised Industrial Zone Directorate, a local workshop would be organised as part of university-industry cooperation, bringing together business people and academics. Noting that joint projects in various fields are planned between the institutions through this cooperation, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl said that they will bring business people together with students within the scope of career days to be held at vocational schools. Expressing his hope that the cooperation will be beneficial for the institutions, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl thanked BALOSB Director Akın Ünal for his interest. BALOSB Director Akın Ünal also expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration with the university and thanked Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl.
