Balıkesir University Participated in the ‘Sustainable Balıkesir’ Workshop

The Balıkesir Industrialists and Business People Association (BASİAD) organised a workshop entitled ‘Determining Sustainable Development Goals for Balıkesir’ as part of the Carbon-Free Balıkesir Project, supported by European Union grant funds. The workshop examined Balıkesir's environmental, social, economic and administrative priorities. Participants exchanged ideas by discussing the city's future priorities and proposed solutions in sessions held at different tables. Balıkesir University contributed to the event by participating alongside faculty members and the Technology Transfer Office. The university's participation was significant in terms of providing a scientific perspective on the steps to be taken towards the city's sustainable development goals.

It is expected that the report to be produced from the workshop will contribute to determining the priorities for Balıkesir's sustainable development and serve as a guiding resource for decision-makers.
