Participation in the 1st Balıkesir Agriculture and Livestock Fair from BAÜN
Balıkesir University demonstrated its support for agriculture and livestock farming once again by participating in the Balıkesir Agricultural Fair with its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and Application Farm. At the fair, held under the theme of climate-appropriate agriculture and fruitful investment, the triplet lambs, the newest members of the BAÜN Application Farm, attracted the attention of visitors, particularly Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu and other protocol members. The opening ceremony of the fair, held at the Ali Hikmet Paşa Sports Facilities, was attended by Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu, as well as Balıkesir Deputy Burak Dalgın, Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Akın, Chief Public Prosecutor Abdulkadir Akın, Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, BASİAD Board Chairman Selçuk Savaş, Commodity Exchange President Mehmet Çetin, Chamber of Commerce President Rahmi Kula, protocol members, industry representatives and citizens. Balıkesir University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, accompanied by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl, attended the fair opening and held discussions with university representatives about the university's activities. At the fair, where participants were provided with information about the work carried out within the university in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry, the projects carried out by the Animal Husbandry Application and Research Centre and the Technology Transfer Organisation (TTO) attracted particular interest. Lambs born on the farm, work carried out under the umbrella of the TTO on traditional silkworm breeding, and UAVs for agricultural spraying attracted considerable interest from participants. The fair programme also included presentations by Balıkesir University academics sharing information on other topics related to agriculture, livestock farming, and the fair theme. The fair, in which Balıkesir University is also a partner, can be visited at the Ali Hikmet Paşa Sports Facilities from 1st to 5th November.
